✅ James Cooper, Oklahoma City Council - (2023) Won with 76.9% of the vote in a three-way contest. Including the challenge of a unqualified candidate that went to the Oklahoma Supreme Court. (2019) Won a five-way primary with 53.03% of the vote, avoiding a runoff election and electing the first LGBT+ member of the OKC Council, the first Black person to serve a majority-white ward, and delivering a majority-millennial government to Oklahoma City.✅ Mauree Turner, Oklahoma House of Representatives - (2020) Managed the upset primary campaign of Representative Mauree Turner, the first nonbinary legislator in the United States and first Muslim in the Oklahoma legislature. Implemented advanced digital organizing techniques in response to COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the field organizing plan. Won with 52.1% of the vote while being outspent by over $100,000 by the incumbent.💪 Planned Parenthood - (2021) Led Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s successful $1.1 million effort to elect Georgia Senator Ossoff in an escalated run-off scenario. (2020) Led Planned Parenthood Action Fund’s $4.4 million campaign in North Carolina to re-elect Governor Roy Cooper, elect Attorney General Josh Stein, and protect or flip several critical state legislative seats. Led a team of 30 organizers across the state and ideated unique digital organizing tactics in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. (2019) Planned and executed a 360° advocacy campaign to influence the Governor and key legislators for a campaign to codify abortion rights into the Vermont Constitution, which passed the Vermont legislature. (2018) Coordinated Planned Parenthood Votes’s effort to elect Stacey Abrams in the 2018 elections including developing a field plan for three affiliate organizers, tracking a budget, representing Planned Parenthood Votes in coalition spaces, and co-leading an effort to remedy ballot issues to fight the voter suppression crisis which included a phone bank operation to reach affected voters in metro-Atlanta counties.
